The animals are first immunised against the disease and are then made hyper-immune by the injection of a large quantity of virulent rinderpest blood. Hence the serum is full of anti-bodies against the disease and the animals are bled regularly in order to produce anti-rinderpest serum which is then used to immunise the cattle of the country which are treated at district camps when two year old, and the treatment confers...
